What does your job entail?

As a lifestyle photographer, I will capture a lot of different venues and cool places around the city, the food scene, cafes, bars, cultural exhibitions and festivals. There's always something going on here, you can never get bored.

The state of Victoria has a lot of beautiful landscapes that I look forward to exploring! Phillip Island, The Great Ocean Road, the Twelve Apostles, Mornington Peninsula, Yarra Valley and the vineyards are definitely on my wish-list. I'm really looking forward to sharing the wonders of Australia with people around the world through my photographs.

What are you most looking forward to about your job?

I think living and photographing in Victoria will be an extraordinary experience, it's a state with such diverse landscapes. You have, Melbourne, this big vibrant city and then a couple hours away you have beaches, snow mountains, vineyards... There's a lot of interesting things and it's going to be very fun to discover little by little this stuff.

What you've loved so far about Australia?

Australia is such a diverse country and it's all very new to me. So far I've only seen Melbourne and Sydney and I loved what I have seen.  Melbourne is my home now for the next 6 months and I feel very welcomed here. I love living in big cities, as I used to live in one in Brazil, and that's what attracts me to this town. It's has a busy cultural life, full of events, music concerts, exhibitions and markets. And if you're a foodie like me, you'll love every bite you have around here.

What were you most surprised about?

Melbourne is full of cool people: trendy designers, bad a** chefs, tattooed baristas. The thing that surprised me the most was the fact that people here are really nice and welcoming. They know how to provide good service and make you feel very comfortable no matter where you go around this town.

What's the best backpacker job you've come across so far?

I know regional Victoria has a lot of exciting offers to backpackers on a working holiday. As for my experience in the city so far, Melbourne offers amazing opportunities in the cafes and bars. You can learn new skills to become a barista or work close to renowned chefs. It's a backstage pass to the city's famous food scene.

Sum up the State in five words...
