Patrick Blute visited 14 countries on 4 continents on our dime as the World Traveler Intern 08!
Europe, Asia, Australia and South America: Patrick had a big itinerary with plenty to see and do! See it all from his blogs, videos and podcasts here on www.statravel.com and on www.statravelers.com.
Part I - Travel Channel Academy
Learned from the experts...
Patrick's adventure began by learning the basics of shooting travel videos from the experts at the Travel Channel!
The Travel Channel Academy is the ONLY professional-grade, travel-focused film making boot camp, period. Patrick learned from the best. Not a bad way to start THE summer of his life!
Part II - Spain, France, Italy (14 days)
On to Europe....
Eurostar zipped Pat from London to Paris. Then it was off to Madrid for his first leg with Contiki!
Contiki Holidays guided him for the next 14 days from Spain to the French Riviera then down to Rome...
Part III - Italy, Greece, Albania, Montenegro, Croatia (13 days)
...to the Adriatic Sea...
Topdeck took Pat from Rome to Venice via the Adriatic Sea. He visited Albania, Croatia and Montenegro en route.
Topdeck designs trips for 18 to 30-somethings who want to explore the wonders of the modern and ancient world. Pat got comfy on his luxury coach bus and had a blask with his newest best friends!
Part IV - China and Vietnam (12 days)
...East to Asia...
The third leg of the World Traveler Internship 08 was an exciting trek from Hong Kong to Vietnam!
This part of the internship was with our friends at Intrepid, who specialize in adventures that emphasize the journey, not just the destination.
Part V - Australia (4 days) and New Zealand (7 days)
Off to the South Pacific...
Pat spent the next 4 days in Sydney catching up with everything before his next trip - around New Zealand!
Connections showed him around the South Island, and all of its incredible beauty! New Zealand is famous for extreme sports - and Patrick was game!
Part VI - Argentina and Galapagos Islands (10 days)
Final stop...South America!
Our World Traveler Intern ended his amazing summer in Buenos Aires and the Galapagos Islands with G.A.P Adventures!
While each leg of the 08 internship was different from 07, THIS one was brand new! Our friends at G.A.P Adventures showed Pat the real flavor of South America with an exciting trek through two incredible places.

His itinerary had him up to all sorts of shenanigans. And, being 18, he would do anything and try anything - like eating a bug in Huashan, China. Not sure if it was alive still. See what else he was up to.
