Where to eat in Nashville in each neighborhood

Today’s blog is written you by our Student Ambassador at Vanderbilt University, Avery Hannon. She is about as Nashville as they come – was born in Nash, goes to Vandy, and works in the music industry. She used her Nashville expertise to share all of her favorite places to eat in each part of Nashville. Follow her travels on Instagram: @styledbyavery.

1. Pancake Pantry – Hillsboro Village

You cannot leave Nashville until you have tried these INCREDIBLE pancakes. Think of the best pancake you’ve ever had then multiply the deliciousness by 10 and you will get Pancake Pantry. Be sure to get there early to miss the line!

2. Donut Den – Green Hills

Don’t make the mistake of going to a chain donut shop while in Nash. Donut Den has every donut you could ever dream of. They are most known for their incredible donut holes (make sure to try the blueberry ones!) They even have a Texas Donut that is as big as a tire… you might need some help carrying it out.

3. Franklin Juice Co. – 12 South

Want something on the lighter side? Then girl, you need to try Franklin Juice’s acai bowls because they are SO good. Plus, it is located right on 12 South, so you can take it to go and go on a stroll down the adorable street.

4. Barcelona – Edgehill

Barcelona solves the ever-present Brunch struggle: savory or sweet? At Barcelona, you can get BOTH because brunch is served tapas style. Get eggs benedict and French toast or maybe a scramble and churros… the options are endless. But wait there’s more… they also have the most elaborate mimosa bar you’ve ever seen.

5. SATCO – Midtown

Looking for the best queso in Nash? Look no further because SATCO’s queso is what Mexican food dreams are made of. Located right next to Vandy’s campus, this tex-mex restaurant has a great big patio to sit out on. Even better, it is nice to your wallet.

6. Martin’s – Downtown

BBQ is no stranger to Nashville, and in my opinion, Martin’s is the best. Go for their famous redneck taco or their amazing dry-rub wings. Plus, in true Nashville fashion, you get unlimited free whoopie pies. If you’re going to a concert downtown, stop by Martin’s before.

7. Bobby’s Dairy Dip – Sylvan Park

Bobby’s is one of the Nashville locals’ favorite spots. This adorable outside seating dairy bar has been a Nashville institution since 1951. Their classic dipped cone is the best move to make, but don’t over look their amazing chicken sandwiches and hot dogs either.

8. Burger Republic – The Gulch

Three words: tater tot nachos. Three more words: spiked Nutella milkshakes. Three more words: juicy, delicious burgers.  Is your mouth watering yet? I thought so.  You cannot go wrong with this Nashville burger join located right in the heart of the Gulch neighbourhood.

9. Eat Mas Tacos – East Nashville

Mas Tacos is a hole in the wall with the best tacos in Nash. Make sure you stop by the ATM on the way thought because it is cash only. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu, but don’t leave without trying their Mexican corn and homemade frescas.

10. Butchertown Hall – Germantown

Calling all carnivores! Brisket, steak, pork chops, ribs, burgers…pretty much any meat you can think of. Each one is just as amazing and tender as the last. Also, important information: their frozen marg is perfection.

11. Five Points Pizza – Five Points

Looking for a great neighbourhood pizza joint in Nash? Well, you just found it. Five Points is always hopping with fellow pizza lovers. It has been voted best pizza in Nashville many years over. The people have spoken, you have to go get a slice of five points pizza… or a whole pizza, there’s no judgement here.

12. Pfunky Griddle – Berry Hill

I started the list with pancakes, so it’s only fitting that I end with pancakes, right? Pfunky Griddle or as I like to say, Puh-funky griddle is one of the most fun restaurants in Nashville. You get to make your pancakes, French toast, etc. right in the middle of the table. Pick your favorite toppings and then you get unlimited batter. The tradition is to use your left over batter to attempt to make a giant pancake!
