Unforgettable Grad Gift

This is one of more than 1,000 pictures my brother and I took during our trip around Europe - a gift for graduating from college! We could not have asked for anything better. We spent 20 days visiting incredible countries and embracing the cultures that we encountered. We spent 2 days enjoying the beauty of Florence and the Tuscany area!
We were told that the best view of the city was from Piazza Michelangelo and this was where the photo was taken. It's on a hill on the south bank of the Arno River, just east of the center of the city.
The architecture of every city that we visited was so reflective of its richness in history and culture, and Florence was just a sight to behold with museums and attractions such as The Duomo. The perfect ending to our visit was having pizza for dinner and gelato shortly after. Every time I am asked how our trip went, I find myself overwhelmed as there really are no words to describe the charm of Florence and the rest of Europe.
The best thing about this photo was knowing that when we took it, our friends back home were either in work or school wishing they were in Florence! As a remnant of the renaissance, everyone should visit Florence for its history, art, culture, people, food! Bonus - there are outlet stores featuring Gucci and Prada a bus ride away.

She just graduated from UC-Santa Barbara! She's been to the Philippines, China, Thailand, Mexico, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Italy, and Switzerland. She tries to travel internationally at least once a year. Her most memorable travel moment was during trip mentioned here, "Visiting a concentration camp memorial site in Germany and immersing myself in such a significant part of world history." Nicole's ultimate backpacking trip would be to go around Africa.
