You Gotta See This: Saharan Skiing

This photo captures both the fun and the connections we, as Americans, had with our peers, the locals, and Morocco as a country. We rode camels in the Sahara Desert to watch the sunset and at our destination, our Moroccan director proposed a race. Badrdine, left in the photo, challenged us to race down to the bottom of the biggest dune. We enthusiastically accepted – feeling increasingly comfortable in our foreign situation and gleeful at our opportunity to be in this magical place. This photo is that moment of our feet forever frozen in red sands of the Sahara.
About this traveler:
David Parrish is a student at the University of Colorado. He's been to Japan, Thailand, South Korea, South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zaire, Lesthoto, France, Morocco, Germany, England, Scotland, Switzerland, Mexico, Costa Rica, and "good 'ol Canada." He travels internationally once or twice a yeare and visits family here in the States as well. His most memorable moment or experience was, "Studying abroad in Morocco and living on my own in Fes, the most medieval city in the world." His ultimate backpacking trip would be to criss-cross Kenya with his camera seeing the mountains, jungles, people, animals and oceans.
