Abbey Road

By Amanda Delaney

This is of the famous Abbey Road* in London, England in March 2006. My friends and I were studying in London at the time and it took about an hour to get this shot! Abbey Road isn't a quaint quiet street. Besides the fact that we were very picky on the photo, the girl taking the photo for us didn't speak English. We practiced for a bit before but of course when you are standing still in the middle of a busy street you freak out and mess it up, so that's why it took an hour.

London is my favorite city - it was an unreal experience. This photo is actually hanging in the living room, which I share with 2 of the girls in the pic. The other girl is back in London working. Studying abroad introduces you to friends you'll have forever!

About this traveler:

Amanda is a USC grad who's been to Malta, England, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, and Thailand. "I traveled the most when I lived abroad in London and then Sydney. My most memorable moment would have to be when I went bungy jumping in Queenstown, New Zealand. It was the most incredible experience of my life and I have never felt so many emotions in such a short period of time!" Her ultimate backpacking trip would be to be ski bum in Colorado then head to Germany and attempt to DJ, go to fashion week in Paris, work at a club in Greece, practice my Spanish in Barcelona, backpack through India, head to New Zealand and work the bungy jump then visit my friends in Sydney."

*Abbey Road was made famous by The Beatles with their 1969 album cover of the same name, "Abbey Road."
