You Gotta See This: Wat Doi Suthep

I took this picture at Wat Doi Suthep, a hilltop temple in Chiang Mai, Thailand. I was here for 5 days of my 6-week loop from Bangkok to the north of Thailand, through Laos and back to Bangkok!
I studied Buddhism during a seminar and found that my own beliefs were really aligned with Buddhist thought, but it was entirely different to see Buddhism in practice - to not be talking about it theoretically in a classroom, but to see how it plays out in ordinary peoples day to day lives. I was really moved by visiting temples throughout Thailand and Laos, they are beautiful and deeply spiritual places. I was unsure about taking photos of people in the act of devotion, but ultimately I wanted to remember the devotion and contemplation that they seemed so inspired by in those places. This was one of my favorite places during my 6 weeks of traveling.
