2010 World Traveler Internship in Japan

The 2010 World Traveler Internship heads from the South Pacific to the North Pacific, where the Interns will stop first in Japan.

They'll be guided by STA's adventure operator, GAP Adventures, from Tokyo to Kyoto, experiencing amazing temples, mountains, and museums along the way.

Here's the full itinerary for the fourth leg of this summer of travel around the world.


Day  Where  Doing 
32-35 Arrive in Tokyo Arrive in Tokyo and relax a few days, catch up with stuff and meet the group you'll be traveling with.
36 Tokyo  Explore this amazing city, which is a blend of ancient and modern times. Today includes stops at the Imperial Palace, Asakusa Kannon Temple, Tokyo Tower, and Meji Shrines!
37 Mt. Fuji/Kyoto  Keep the camera handy to show off the spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean from the peak of Mt. Fuji! Today also includes a stop at Hakone National Park, a ride on the Mt. Komagatake Aerial Cableway and Lake Ashi.
38-39 Kyoto 

Tour Kyoto today, including Nijo Castle, Kinkakuji Temple, and Nara. You'll see Buddhist temples everywhere you turn. Take note of Kyoto's stunning architecture. Did you know this city was the capital of Japan for more than 1000 years?

40 Kyoto This trip ends. More free time today.
41 Fly to Thailand!  On to the next leg of the 2010 World Traveler Internship: Thailand!
