2010 World Traveler Internship in Turkey

The 2010 World Traveler Internship Itinerary continues west from Thailand to Turkey, where the interns will journey with our adventure operator, Fez, from Istanbul along the coast down to Kusadasi, stopping in Gallipoli, Troy and Ephesus along the way.

Here's the full itinerary for the sixth leg of this amazing summer of travel.


Day  Where  Doing 
55-56  Istanbul  Free time in Istanbul before meeting your tour group and trip leader.
57  Istanbul  Tour this exotic city that spans both Europe and Asia visiting the Blue Mosque, the Aya Sofya, Topkapi Palace, the Basilica underground cistern and the Hippodrome 
58  Gallipoli Battlefields  One of the most emotionally touching places in Turkey, today you visit the WWI Battlefields of Gallipoli including Lone Pine and Chunuk Bair Memorials, ANZAC Cove, the Nek, Johnston's Jolly and the Gallipoli Museum.  
59  Troy, Acropolis of Pergamum  This morning, step back in time as you visit Troy, home of the famed Trojan Horse. Then tour the magnificent acropolis of Pergamum. Its impressive temples and made Pergamum a renowned cultural and political center in its time. An afternoon leather goods display follows. 
60  Ephesus, Kusadasi  Absorb history today with a guided tour of Ephesus and a visit to the Temple of Artemis. Feel the mystical atmosphere of the ancient city and stadium. Carpet weaving has long traditions in Turkey. At the carpet village, learn how the carpets are made by hand and what determines their value.  
61  Kusadasi  This trip ends after breakfast and you say goodbye to your group.
