It's hard to know where to start in Chiang Mai. Enjoy the fantastic food at the markets, pop in to some of the 300 temples, try out a cooking school or cycle the rural surrounds.
Days 4-6 Hilltribe Trek
The vibrant traditional costumes of the local hilltribes add a splash of colour to the three day trek. Ride an elephant through the jungle and enjoy a bamboo raft trip.
Day 7 Chiang Mai
Opt for a traditional Thai massage to soothe the cares away, then bargain up a storm at one of the best night bazaars in northern Thailand.
Days 8-9 Bangkok
Step straight into Bangkok's electrifying mass of markets and temples, canal boats and tuk tuks. Shop till you drop, recover with a massage and top it off with some mouthwatering Thai cuisine.
Days 10-11 Khao Sok National Park
Stay in rustic bungalows surrounded by the evocative sounds of the jungle at Khao Sok National Park. Follow forest trails to rivers and waterfalls in search of exotic birds and noisy gibbons or take an optional elephant ride.

Southern Thai beaches are simply perfect. A local boat takes us to remote beaches for an idyllic day of snorkelling and swimming, or try some more adventurous options.
Days 15-16 Penang
Take to the winding streets of Georgetown by bicycle rickshaw to see the colonial architecture, as well as the temples of Chinatown and Little India.
Day 17 Cameron Highlands
This quintessential colonial hill station is an idyllic botanical paradise. Its temperate climate has made it Malaysia's 'Green Bowl', with strawberry farms, tea plantations and rose gardens spread over the terraced slopes.
Days 18-19 Kuala Lumpur
An eclectic mix of old and new, Kuala Lumpur has many attractions. Lake gardens, two of the world's tallest buildings, a fantastic night market and the nearby statues of Hindu deities in the Batu Caves are all on offer.
Day 20 Melaka
Historical Melaka is a fusion of Chinese, Indian, Malay and European influences. Take a boat ride on the river, cruise the streets of Chinatown, stop in at a temple or mosque or climb the steps to St Paul's Church.
