What's your best tip for entertaining yourself in the airport?
I love meeting locals and other travelers and hearing their stories, so I'm always looking for people to talk to.
If that's not your thing, you can write postcards, read (I never leave home without a good book), take a nap (make sure you set an alarm), eat, and/or shop.

Getting lost in Prague. We got on the wrong bus, and our bus driver tried to dump us off on a dark, rural road, but we wouldn't budge. One friend of mine was crying hysterically, the other was praying earnestly, and I was negotiating with our not-so-friendly bus driver. He didn't speak English, and I didn't speak Czech, so it took us several minutes for me to convey to him that he wasn't getting rid of us without a fight. He huffed and puffed and finally started driving erratically toward the city. He waved down the first cab we came across, yelled and gestured wildly out the window about the three helpless American girls he was stuck with, and passed us on to the much friendlier cab driver who took us to our hostel. After dealing with that successfully, I felt like I could handle anything our travels threw at us. | Ireland! I'd love to travel up and down the western coast of Ireland, meeting the locals, visiting the ruins, riding bikes in the villages, and drinking at the pubs. |
