Imagine spending an academic semester aboard a dedicated passenger ship!

Traverse the globe with 600 like-minded students from around the world!

Welcome Aboard!

During a 16-week semester, we take you around the world, where you will pursue numerous opportunities through academic field studies, shore excursions and independent travel. Our port program is highly integrated into our academic program, making for an extraordinary experience.

Onboard, you will be completely immersed in a multicultural living environment. Our international student body and staff form a learning community that integrates academic, cultural, and social experiences in programs that would be virtually impossible to duplicate elsewhere.

To succeed in this increasingly interdependent world, you need more than linguistic abilities. You need the intercultural knowledge, understanding and leadership skills that come from experiences among many cultures. This is what the Scholar Ship is all about.

Where you'll go:

The September 2007 voyage embarks in Piraeus (Athens), Greece and sails westward on a compelling itinerary through Europe, the Americas, the South Pacific and Asia.

Who’s behind The Scholar Ship

The Scholar Ship has been developed by a consortium of academic stewards including the University of California, Berkeley in the United States, Fudan University (China), Tecnológico de Monterrey (Mexico), Al Akhawayn University (Morocco), the University of Ghana, Macquarie University (Australia), and Cardiff University (United Kingdom). On behalf of the consortium, Macquarie University has been designated to award academic credit to participating students. The study abroad community recognizes Macquarie as having a long and successful history of hosting international students.
