Overview
When most people think of Amsterdam the liberal laws surrounding drugs and prostitution usually come to mind. But there’s more to the place than just its relaxed attitudes. Amsterdam has one of the largest historic city centres in Europe, with about 7,000 historic buildings. Amble around the 90 islands linked by 400 bridges that make up the city centre by foot, bike or even tuk-tuk. A highlight is Anne Frank House, where the Jewish girl wrote her diary while hiding from the Nazis.
