Dennis Severs' House in Folgate Street, Spitalfields, is a time capsule trapped in the early 18th century, when a family of Huguenot weavers inhabited the house. Too exciting perhaps to go by the name of a museum, it is a house where sound effects, smells and an astonishing eye for period detail bestow upon the visitor an extraordinary experience. There are limited opportunities to view the house, but if you are around on the selected Sundays and Mondays it is worth a look.
