3 days volunteering, 4 days partying
The Dominican Republic is southeast of the tip of Florida on the island of Hispaniola. It's next to Cuba and south of the Bahamas. It's close enough that you won't spend all of your vacation time in a plane.
Instead, here's how you'd spend it...
First 3 days volunteering in Jarabacoa, working with the Los Calabasos Village. You'll stay in private thatch-roof cabins that house 3 to 4 students.
- build and maintain a community garden
- repair damaged houses
- help paint a mural
- take children out on day programs

The next 4 days are for partying on the Caribbean's famous Cabarete Beach and staying at a resort-style hotel! This area explodes at night with fantastic non-stop beach parties and clubs!
You can also wind-surf, scuba dive, snorkel, wake board, cave explore, plus you can do a white-water rafting trip and/or canyoning adventure.
