World Traveler Intern 2008: Pat Blute

pat
Patrick graduated from high school as he started this internship and actually delivered his valedictorian speech via video from Europe.

"I seriously can't tell you how amazed I am at this opportunity. This is definitely my MOST exciting and important achievement!"

"STA Travel, this is going to be an extraordinary journey. I am just so lucky to be a part of your fantastic organization that brings students to the global community.... I am just so excited to get started. I am ecstatic to return to Australia and New Zealand. These countries are a land of extremes; animals, sports, and foods! Trust me, we'll crank the volume on our trip and shout the message loud and clear, "Let's get up, get out, and travel!"

"I am also so enthused to venture to destinations that I've never been to before (the vast majority of sights on this trip). So when I'll be opening my eyes to these new, exotic places, you'll be opening your laptops (or browsing your desktops, please don't open them) and taking the first plunge with me. The Galapagos Islands, Italy, Croatia, Greece, Vietnam, China, and beyon d, we will be spending a lot of time together. So thank you, thank you, thank you for this opportunity. I will not let you down! So hey STAers: let's pack up, suit up, and jump up because this is one adventure you won't want to miss."

Among Pat's previous awards and accomplishments before traveling as the STA Travel World Traveler Intern:

  • TIME Magazine Tomorrow 25 Leader (April 2007)
  • Coca-Cola Scholarship National Finalist (April 2008)
  • Fresh Films Team Boston (June 2006)
  • Massachusetts Lions Club Youth Speech Contest (March 2007)
  • Harwich Junior Theatre (2001 to Present)

Check em out!

Our World Traveler Intern had one adventure after another. Check them out here! His itinerary had him up to all sorts of shenanigans. And, being 18, he would do anything and try anything - like eating a bug in Huashan, China. Not sure if it was alive still. See what else he was up to. More
