The hotel is on the freeway so need to ask for a room overlooking river, to get into centre of Perth catch a bus outside hotel, about a 5 minute journey. Rooms were clean with balcony but builders causing dust and dirt whilst we were there in February 09

We had a lovely view of the Swan River, we had a balcony to sit out and drink our wine, hotel was undergoing refurbishment so builders were there and causing noise and dirt.

Budget accomodation with helpful staff

The pool certainly takes some of the sting out of the Western Australian sun, but could do with a make-over, as does the rest of the hotel. However, for a budget accomodation this is a great place to stay with immensely friendly, patient and helpful staff. The rooms (again, albeit a bit old) are quite large and the view of the Perth skyline (from the balconies on the north side of the building) is breath taking. The busses stoppin right in front of the hotel take you straight into the city centre within 15-20 minutes or to Freemantle within 30 minutes. The breakfast was good and within a competitive price range, although more effort was needed in refilling the empty bowls and plates of the buffet. But if you have got the time it is well worth waiting around for.
