Get a good night's sleep before the tour as you're up bright and early to travel to Paihia. Don't worry about getting bored though - you'll stop off to see New Zealand's giant kauri trees and for a hike to a beautiful waterfall. Snorkel beneath crystalline waters to see the vibrant marine life at Goat Island followed by a trip to the historic treaty grounds of Waitangi. After a full day, settle into your accommodation for the evening.
A collection of 144 islands, the Bay of Islands is brimming with fantastic marine life and there's no better way to experience it than by boat. Hop onboard for a wildlife cruise, keeping your eyes peeled for dolphins. In the afternoon, it's off to Opononi and the Hokianga, with a local Maori welcome waiting for you. Next up is a trip to see the island's huge sand dunes before taking part in an evening tour of Tane Mahuta, or the God of the Forest, New Zealand's largest living kauri tree.
Head across the Hokianga Harbour for a spot of sandboarding down massive dunes then make your way south through the mighty Waipoua forest, littered with 1,000 year old trees. Pay a visit to the idyllic Kai Iwi lakes for a swim in clear, turquoise waters before departing for Auckland, arriving late afternoon where your journey ends.
