Day 1 Auckland / Paihia

Be ready to be picked up bright and early from Auckland to head north to Paihia. You won't have to stay sitting the entire time either as you'll get to visit giant kauri trees and go for a hike to a beautiful waterfall. Spend the rest of the day snorkelling past amazing marine life at Goat Island and visiting historic the treaty grounds of Waitangi. In the evening, settle into your accommodation and relax - the night is free for you to do as you wish (or to do nothing at all).

Day 2 Paihia / Hokianga Harbour

The Bay of Islands is a collection of 144 island bursting with marine life, there's no better way to see it than by boat. This morning we take a wildlife cruise, keeping a keen eye out for dolphins. In the afternoon it's off to Opononi and the Hokianga, where we are greeted by a local Maori and welcomed to the area. See huge sand dunes and take part in an evening tour or Tane Mahuta “God Of The Forest”

Day 3 Hokianga Harbour / Auckland

It's across the Hokianga Harbour to go sandboarding today down the massive dunes before we start to make our way south through the mighty Waipoua Forest littered with 1,000-year-old trees. We visit the idyllic Kai Iwi Lakes for a swim in the crystal clear waters draped with beautiful white sand before departing for Auckland arriving late afternoon.

Day 4 Hahei

Leave Auckland behind and head southeast to the famous Cathedral Cove. You can only see it on foot or by boat but this beautiful coastal spot is a must-see site on the Coromandel Peninsula for a reason! Next stop is the unique Hot Water beach - start digging your own personal spa pool in the sand! You'll be spending the night in cosy beachside cabins, falling asleep to the sound of the waves. Bliss.

Day 5 Rotorua

Get active in Rotorua - whether it's white water rafting, zorbing or the luge, you know your adrenaline's going to be pumping. In the evening you'll be welcomed into the authentic Tamaki Maori village to learn all about Maori art forms, ancient rituals and traditions. You'll experience a traditional Maori feast and spend the night in a Maori meeting house. You're in for an educational evening!

Day 6 Taupo / Whakahoro

Start the day off right with a swim in a natural hot river before travelling to the spectacular Huka Falls. Afterwards, it's off to the eco-award winning Blue Duck Lodge. There's no driving to this incredible place - grab a kayak and get paddling. Go on a farm adventure, learning about the eco-system and the farm along the way, or join a hunt to eradicate the station from pests. Still not satisfied? A scenic horse ride may be the way to go. And you're in for a delicious dinner - everything's cooked using local produce.

Day 7 Tongariro National Park

Drive on to the Tongariro National Park where you'll get the chance to hike the Tongariro Crossing - it's been rated as one of New Zealand's best one day walks or visit the Volcanic Centre museum. Either way, you're in for a fantastic day.

Day 8 Wellington

Time for New Zealand's capital city! Tour bustling Wellington - see its parliament building, including the iconic Beehive, visit Te Papa, the national museum, and stroll around its many art galleries and botanical gardens. Or you can just sit in a café and watch the world pass you by.

Day 9 Auckland

Catch an express train from Welling to Auckland with a stop along for photos - you'll be dying to get a non-shaky photo by that point in the journey! You'll lunch in the township of a dual World Heritage area - National Park.
