Teach Children in Laos (2013)
Laos is one of the most traditional countries in Asia, packed with history and offering some of the richest culture in the region! Volunteering to work with local children in this magical country is an incredibly rewarding opportunity to connect with the real Laos and its people. The volunteer project is based in Luang Prabang -- a UNESCO Heritage Site, famous for its beauty, architecture and vibrant colour! Volunteers will spend their days working with local children through assisting Lao-English teachers at schools and language centres, helping with pre-school children and assisting with or teaching extracurricular English course or tutoring programs. With plenty of free time to explore your surroundings as you wish...it`s tough to find a more rewarding way to spend your precious vacation time!
All clients will be allocated their own single room with fan and private bathroom at a guest house. Facilities may be more basic than you are accustomed to -- please travel with an open mind and a willingness to adapt to local conditions. Enjoy the luxury of 24-hour running hot and cold water available for showering. Western style toilets are provided in each of the bathrooms. Clean and simple, these lodgings are the perfect beginning to get in touch with true Laotian life!
Besides the unequalled thrill of bringing the English language to enthralled children throughout Laos, take this unique opportunity to mingle in close quarters with the locals. See up close and personal their intriguing national history and culture, as well as take part in some breathtaking weekend side tours designed especially to make the most out of your time in the South-East Asian beauty!
