- Improve conditions of various animals in captivity through environment and food enrichment - Observe and record enrichment activity outcomes on various animals - Carry out husbandry duties as designated by keepers of various animals - Involved in construction and upkeep of enclosures - Additional activities such as visiting a long house and meeting the Iban tribes, visit nearby markets and social and interactive activities with locals.
3-bedroom stilt house at centre and in Kubah National Park. One bedroom per person unless requested to share. One double bed with linen. Share toilet and bathroom, kitchen, lounge and balcony.
Arrive Kuching Airport and transfer to hostel (city centre four plus) for share accommodation. Welcome dinner and introduction to programme. Volunteers are recommended to arrive before 19:00.
Transfer to Matang Wildlife Centre and introduction to environment and job scopes. (Meal allowance provided).
Work at the centre alongside animal keepers and facilitators to do husbandry and enrichment work to improve the living conditions and stimulate natural behaviours in captive animals.
Transfer from Matang Wildlife Centre to airport for departure flight.
