Day 1: London to Cardiff We head for the valleys and mountains of Wales crossing the mighty Severn Bridge. We have a stop at Chepstow Castle in the marchlands of Britain, before driving on to the romantic ruins of Tintern Abbey. Our journey takes us on to Hay-on-Wye on the Welsh border, a quaint village famous for its large number of bookstores before arriving in Cardiff, the capital of Wales where you can have a pint of Brains and a chat with the locals. Day 2: Brecon Beacons & Welsh Valleys We head to the Brecon Beacons for a hike in the forest around Merthyr Tydfil. From there, we follow in the footsteps of the Great Welsh Leader, Llewellyn, to his final resting place near Builth Wells. Our trip takes us north, into the majestic Elan Valley. Here we pop into the visitor's centre to learn about the history of the area and its dam. Heading up into the mountains of mid Wales, we stop at Devil's Bridge where you can descend and admire the raging Mynach waterfalls. Day 3: Cardiff to London We set out to Blaenavon and the Big Pit, one of Britain's best mining museums where you will learn about the harsh working conditions of the miners and have the opportunity to descend 300 feet to experience it for yourself. Our journey follows the border between Wales and England to Caerleon with its Roman amphitheatre and fortress before our return to London.
