Day 1: 29 December Check in from 3pm. Arrival day. Meet up with your Guide and trip mates, it’s time to get the Hogmanay festivities started and perhaps sample a few local beers in a couple of Edinburgh’s famous pubs. If you're arriving early and want some ideas about what to do in the city, pop in and see us on the Royal Mile for some ideas. We're the local experts! Day 2: 30 December Free time to get out and about and explore the best Edinburgh has to offer. Explore the Castle, the Old Town or why not breathe in some of that great Scottish air and climb Arthur's Seat, an extinct volcano. It’s a bit of a hike but you'll be rewarded with amazing views over the city, and on a clear day you can see the Forth Bridges and Highlands. Tonight, join us for the Torchlight Procession, the opening event for the festivities where you have the chance to carry your own torch. Then it’s on to our legendary HAGGiS ceilidh for a night of traditional Scottish dancing! Day 3: New Year's Eve - Hogmanay! We kick off with the Aussie and Kiwi New Year with loads of lively Antipodeans to celebrate with! You can party on or use your free time to explore the Capital; there's the hustle and bustle of the Royal Mile running from the Castle to the Palace of Holyrood House or The Princes' Street Garden's  Winter Wonderland. Dress up warm and make sure you grab your Street Party ticket before heading to the best New Year celebration in the world! Day 4: New Year's Day If you’re brave, you can choose to add a ‘Loony Dook’ to your booking! Along with a thousand other ‘loonies’ you can brave the freezing waters of the Firth of Forth. Alternatively, join hundreds of people who take to the city for a day of Edinburgh's Hogmanay festivities to start the New Year. Day 5: 2 January We leave Scotland's capital and head past the capital of Stirling, home to legends such as William Wallace and Robert the Bruce and scene of many of Scotland’s most famous and bloody battles in the Wars of Independence. Our route north takes us through dramatic Glencoe, the ‘Weeping Glen’ and site of the massacre of 1692 before passing through the shadow of mighty Ben Nevis, Britain’s highest mountain. Travelling along the Great Glen fault line we then skirt the coast, see Eilean Donan Castle perched on the shores of Loch Duich before crossing the bridge to the Isle of Skye. Day 6: 3 January Today we explore the ‘Winged Isle’ or ‘Isle of Mist’ with its remote villages, awesome scenery and home to the legendary MacLeod and MacDonald Clans. Immersed in Celtic myths and Viking legends, tales of faeries and 'wee folk' we explore the windswept landscape and rugged mountain ranges. Crossing back to the mainland and on to Fort Augustus by the shores of mighty Loch Ness for a party in Mos Bar. Day7: 4 January We follow the entire length of Loch Ness, searching for a glimpse of the legendary beast and past Urquhart castle dramatically poised on its shores. Heading south we make our way to Dunkeld with its mighty Cathedral and through Macbeth country before crossing the Forth Road Bridge and our return to Edinburgh at approximately 5pm and a final farewell.
