8 days

If you’ve ever wanted to forge a deeper bond with a destination, this is your chance. Centred in San Gimignano, this Local Living adventure places you in the heart of Tuscany for eight days of exploring. After a chef-prepared lunch, you’re free to explore the town, visit vineyards, discover medieval highlights or embrace your inner artist wandering the Tuscan countryside. You’ll share the accommodation with like-minded travellers, and with a CEO there to point you in the right direction, prepare to fall in love with Italy.
  • Day 1 Florence

Welcome! After meeting at a convenient location in Florence (please refer to arrival details for more information on where to meet), we proceed by train and bus to San Gimignano and then walk to our home just outside the beautiful medieval hill town of San Gimignano. The property owner and San Gimignano native Ugo is a fountain of information about the area and lives in one of the apartments of his remodeled medieval house. Enjoy an orientation walk around town with your CEO, then relax on one of the house's patios or start exploring the medieval walled city.

  • Day 2 San Gimignano (1L)

Start your day off right with an included starter kit of breakfast essentials and local delicacies. Enjoy a traditional hearty Italian lunch prepared by a local chef, with our neighbour Ugo, a San Gimignano native.

  • Day 3-7 San Gimignano

Do as much or as little as you like during your stay in Central Tuscany. Explore fascinating San Gimignano with its many museums, narrow medieval streets and looming towers, or shop 'til you drop in stores featuring handmade Italian leather goods and regional gastronomical delights such as olive oil and wine. Explore the Tuscan countryside by foot, scooter, rental car or tour. There's loads to see, taste and explore from castles to Chianti and Brunello vineyards to larger towns and cities like Siena and Florence. And the best part of Local Living? You don't have to pack your things and move every day! The Via Francigena, a historical path in use approximately 1000 years ago for those making pilgrimage between Cantebury, England to Rome, runs very close to the Local Living house and is great for those who wish to explore the Tuscan countryside by foot. Pack a picnic and set off by foot. San Gimignano's weekly market is on Thursday mornings, but other nearby towns have markets between Tuesday and Saturday. Stop by, buy fresh produce directly from local farmers, and cook up a Tuscan feast. Cooking classes are always an option if you'd like some guidance in the kitchen. There are options for 1, 2, and 3-day cooking courses.
