Opening Ceremony departure: Day 1: 19 September Check in at the Busabout office in London ready to depart at 1pm for your coach journey over to Munich. We'll be taking the ferry from Dover to Calais so be sure to grab some snacks for the journey ahead. Day 2: 20 September We arrive at the campsite in Munich late morning where you will be allocated your pre-pitched tent. Once settled your Guide will take you on an orientation walk of the city. You can either head to one of the local beer halls to warm up ready for the festival or just chill out and explore the city at your own pace. We will run a shuttle from Munich to the campsite to get you back.... Day 3: 21 September Let the fun begin! The opening parade starts at 11am and we'll make sure you will be in the right place at the right time. We go to festival grounds at 8am to get seats for the Opening Ceremony. The festival begins with a colourful parade through the streets of Munich to the Oktoberfest grounds. Horse and carts in traditional dress carry in the very beer kegs we will soon be drinking from! Watch the landlords make their festive entry to the Theresienwiese. There wil be a few shuttles throughout the day to get you back to the campsite. Day 4: 22 September After grabbing some breakfast to line your stomach we will take the shuttle to Munich for your second day of Oktoberfest revelry. You can choose to hit the beer halls or try one of our optional excursions. Join our day trip to one of the most stunning parts of Bavaria to visit King Ludwig's famous Neuschwanstein Castle. This region is absolutely breath taking and the castle itself was used as a model for Walt Disney's Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty. Your Busabout Guide and driver will take you there in air-conditioned style and have you back in time to party at the Oktoberfest grounds for your last night in Munich. Day 5: 23 September Final day to experience Munich and all the festival shenanigans before we depart for London Day 6: 24 September We arrive back into London early afternoon where you'll bid farewell to your fest mates and Busabout crew.
