Day trip to Royal Ascot

Meet at the Contiki Basement, just underneath the Royal National Hotel, in convenient central London, near Russell Square Underground station. On arrival you’ll meet up with our Contiki team & board our comfy Contiki coach bound for Ascot, to start your day at the races. Get to know your fellow travellers as you make your way to the event. You’ll start to get excited as you feel the buzz of race day on arrival at Ascot. With people dressed in their best & ready to sip bubbly & watch the racing action, the atmosphere here is buzzing. On arrival, we’ll get you started right (and line those tummies) with a delicious included buffet lunch of cold meats & chicken, salads, cheeses, breads & of course, bubbly! Then its time to mingle with the rich & famous. Ascot is known for its glamour & in 2013, you’re a part of it. It’s time to head in to the Silver Ring to enjoy people watching & checking out the girls in heels & dresses and guys in their tails & hats. Keep your eyes peeled for the guests of honour as you see the Royal family arrive by horse and coach. Catch them up close as they travel down the New Mile, then it’s time to watch all the racing action & be amongst the awesome atmosphere. The first race kicks off at 2.30pm & the last is around 5.30pm, so there’s plenty of time to place some bets, sip on champagne & mix with the crowds. Maybe pack a picnic rug if you’re keen & park up with your new friends for one of the UK’s most memorable events. After the last race, make your way back to the coach & jump back on board as we head to London, where you can keep the party moving. Note: At Ascot, the Silver Ring has a policy of no re-entry into the ring. If you exit the ring, you won’t be able to go back in.
