From big city bustle in New York to anachronistic Amish communities in rural Pennsylvania, this 9-day trip captures the rollicking history and modern energy of the East Coast. Relive the revolution in Boston, explore the great museums of Washington DC and get soaked on the boat at Niagara Falls. You’ll travel by private van and stay in central hotels so that you’re always in the heart of the action. This trip is compact enough for those short on time but long enough to make some new friends while discovering America’s past.
  • Day 1 New York

    Arrive at any time. Welcome meeting in the evening.

  • Day 2 Philadelphia/Washington DC

    Head south to Philadelphia and discover the path of American history. Visit Independence National Historic Park and explore the facts and myths surrounding the Liberty Bell, the symbol of freedom. Continue the short drive (about 3 hrs) to Washington DC.   • Day 3 Washington DC

    Today is all about the capital of the United States. There is so much to see and do in Washington DC that you can't see it all in one day. Take your time as you spend a full day exploring this fascinating city. Tour the National Monuments and memorials including the White House, Washington Monument, Reflecting Pool and the Lincoln Memorial. Visit the National Mall that includes 15 museums such as the Air and Space Museum and the National Museum of Natural History.

  • Day 4 Harrisburg

    Discover the story of the Amish people, their history and their beliefs as we pass through Lancaster County, home to the largest Amish community in the United States. Enjoy an included Amish buggy ride through some of the most beautiful scenery on the East Coast, followed by an optional meal at a classic Pennsylvania Dutch restaurant. Later, tour the Hershey's chocolate factory (free chocolate!) before arriving in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania's capital city.   • Day 5 Niagara Falls

    This morning, keep heading North to Niagara Falls. Feel the rushing waters of the falls by taking the famous 'Maid of the Mist' boat tour. Optionally, dive into a world of discovery at the Cave of the Winds and get soaked! Stay until darkness settles over the falls to see them beautifully illuminated in a rainbow of colour.   • Day 6 Albany

    Enjoy a day out in nature as you take in the natural beauty of the Finger Lakes region. Discover one of the highest waterfalls east of the Rocky Mountains, Taughannock Falls, dropping 215 feet.   • Day 7 Boston

    Keep journeying east to historic Boston. Enjoy an orientation tour of the city highlighting the famous Freedom Trail, a 2.5 mile red-brick walking trail to discover the history of American Revolution. There is much to see in this lively city including museums, shopping, restaurants and bars. If there's time, visit famous Fenway Park, home to baseball's Boston Red Sox.   • Day 8 New York

    Heading south, make your way along one of the busiest stretches of highway in the US to New York City. Enjoy the last afternoon with an orientation tour of the city.
