| Why should I buy this insurance? | One thing that’s certain is the unpredictability of travel. From sickness (you or even a non-traveling family member), hurricane evacuations, or injury while traveling, CSA’s travel insurance protects you – and your trip investment – even before you leave. |
| Exactly what does the insurance reimburse? | CSA coverage is extensive and there are additional options to add for even more. Here’s a shortlist of what’s covered: All prepaid, non-refundable trip costs (such as air fare, cruises, tours) when you cancel for covered reasons; emergency medical or dental expenses; medical evacuations; personal effect expenses caused by baggage delay or loss – plus more. |
| Doesn’t my medical insurance cover me? | Most medical insurance does not cover overseas, including cruise ships of foreign registry. Travel insurance covers the gaps often associated with normal medical coverage, like pre-existing medical conditions. It can also help with deductibles, even if your insurance does happen to provide international coverage. |
| How will the 24-hour Emergency Assistance Services benefit me on my trip? | CSA’s 24-hour Assistance helps you handle any emergencies that come up on your trip: medical referrals, prescription refills, emergency cash transfers, lost tickets, legal referrals or stolen passport. Plus, you’ll even get pre-trip travel advice. |
| Can I think about it and purchase later? | Sure, or, so that you can see in detail what your plan will look like, we can send your Policy/Certificate of Insurance today. That way you’ll have 10 days to review and cancel for a full refund of the premium. Still unsure? You can purchase CSA insurance until 24 hours prior to departure. |
| Is the insurance premium refundable? | CSA includes a 10-day free look, which means, if you’re not satisfied, you can cancel your policy within 10 days of receipt and receive a full refund as long as you haven't departed on your trip of filed a claim. |
| Am I covered if I go to Cuba on my own and not on a US Government authorized trip? | If the client is not on a US government approved trip, they will be excluded from coverage. |
| Can I purchase travel insurance for a side trip while I’m studying abroad? | No, the origin of the covered trip must be in the United States. |
| If an immediate family member dies while I am studying abroad, am I covered for my return trip home? Am I covered for flights/transportation to return to finish my program? | The policy would provide coverage under Trip Interruption for the plane ticket home and missed travel arrangements due to the family member's death, but the client would need to buy a new policy if returning to finish the program. Coverage ends once the insured returns home. |
