Extend My Insurance

If you’re staying away longer than you originally planned, it’s essential that you extend your insurance to cover for your new dates.

If your cover lapses accidentally, or if you decide to travel uninsured for the remainder of your trip, you will not be protected. If you do wish to renew your policy, then we recommend that you renew at least a week before your current policy expires in case there are any issues that need to be attended to.

Please see the information below for guidance on what to do next to extend your existing policy. Don’t risk traveling un-insured!

Extensions for policies purchased through STA in the US
Extend your insurance prior to the policy expiring by contacting the US STA Travel office where you purchased the policy.
You may also extend the policy by calling our 24-hour National Call Center at 800.777.0112 or 480.592.0868.
You can extend your policy through email at travelhelp@statravel.com. Please consider that it will take about 72 hours to receive a response via email.

Remember, your STA Travel Insurance policy MUST still be active to process an extension, so in cases where the policy has only a day or so validity, you are encouraged to call, lest the policy expires during the delay when contacting us via email. You cannot extend the policy by contacting the insurance company directly; nor can you extend the policy through an STA Travel that’s located outside of the US.
