Destination Specialties: Peru, Costa Rica, Mexico, Europe
Personal Travel Tip: Travelers Insurance. Never leave the country without it.
I never leave the country without: Notifying my bank that those charges from 6,000 miles away are all me!
Why do I love my job/travel: I love being challenged by a position that is constantly changing. Every day I learn something new!
Fluent languages: English, un poquito español and my colleagues might say I'm fluent in sarcasm as well
Favorite Destination: I'm head over heels in love with Europe, Thailand, and New Zealand
Destination Specialties: All of Europe (especially Italy, Scotland, Spain, Netherlands, Germany, Croatia, Ireland, the Czech Republic and the UK), Around the World trips, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, China, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, South Africa, Kenya, Egypt, Turkey, Costa Rica, Argentina, Chile, Fiji, Tahiti, Indonesia, Ecuador, and Canada
Personal Travel Tip: If you are backpacking for a while, bring a few dryer sheets in a Ziploc baggie and when your stuff needs a quick refresher just pull one out and put it in your bag. your stuff will smell like new in no time. I also bring endless Ziplocs for wet clothes, shoes etc.
I never leave the country without: An open mind and endless since of adventure. If you don't go with an open mind it won't be half the experience it could be.
Why do I love my job/travel: I have been doing this job for almost 10 years now and everyday is a new adventure, just like traveling. I love to bring the world to people who haven't gotten to experience it yet, and keep sending my seasoned travelers to new places to explore. I have some of the most amazing clients, turned friends too. The world of travel is always full of surprises. Plus I learn something new every day and I have a full, fat, and happy passport, and unforgettable experiences and the most amazing friends all around the world to boot.
Fluent languages: English, Spanish (only when discussing food)
Favorite Destination: Germany! (see photo - look how happy Munich makes me)
Destination Specialties: Europe, especially Spain and the UK
Personal Travel Tip: A superhero never shares her secrets… kidding! I never leave home without hand sanitizer or my iPod. Maybe it's just me, but music that I listen to and later associate with a vacation will bring back incredible memories and put a smile on my face every time I hit play.
I never leave the country without: An open mind. Call me cheesy, but you'll get nothing out of traveling without getting out of your comfort zone.
Why do I love my job/travel: Immersing myself in new culture and incredible landscapes, making friends in foreign countries, and eating strange food are exhilarating experiences that I wouldn’t trade for anything. I gain a new appreciation for my home, better understanding of different folks around the world, and feel like a more well-rounded and better human being every time I board a plane. To put it eloquently; "travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer." Cheers to that!
Fluent languages: English and some Spanish
Favorite Destination: Granada, Spain - there is something about the people and architechture that is both magical and serene. Plus the tinto de verano and tapas are amazing!
Destination Specialties: Europe, especially the UK. Domestic - Hawaii! It's practically my second home
Personal Travel Tip: Birkenstocks and a comfy backpack. There is nothing more live saving then a great pair of broken in Birks. Mine have gotten me through rain, hail, dirt and cobblestone roads, airport security, and the occasional run through the train station. Comfort, both with clothing and backpacks (ditch the rolling luggage) will make life so much easier in the long run.
I never leave the country without: Music, a good book, and a flexible and adventurous mindset.
Why do I love my job/travel: Becoming friends with a stranger on the Tube, eating that mysterious food, or stumbling upon an amazing place after getting lost in a foreign city - it's the little things you experience while traveling that make you appreciate the random beauties in life, the graciousness of people regardless of language or race, and the life you had back home. And it's fun. What's not to love?
